Two ‘pirates’ held in Bagerhat
Bagerhat: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive have arrested two suspected pirates from Pargabindapur village in Rampal upazila of the district.
Tipped off that a gang of hoodlums was taking preparation to commit robbery at Pargabindapur village in the afternoon, a team of the elite force conducted a drive there, said Additional Superintendent of Police M Enayet Hossain Mannan, company commander of RAB-6 of Khulna.
During the drive, the RAB members arrested M Billal Sheikh, 19, son of Kuddus Sheikh of Kain Nagar village in Mongla upazila, and Abdul Khaleque Sheikh, 60, son of Abdul Gafur Sheikh of Pargabindapur village, while their other cohorts fled the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
Later, RAB members recovered two pipe guns and nine bullets from Siddherchar of the Sundarbans under Mongla upazila following the information of the two arrestees.
