Chittagong: A Chittagong court on Tuesday placed Ridwan Uddin, the owner of the house which was used by militants as their den in Mirsarai upazila, on a three-day police custody for interrogation in a case filed over the recovery of huge explosives from the house.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahidullah Kaiser passed the order after hearing a remand petition filed by Inspector Jakir Hossain of Mirsarai Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case.

Earlier on Sunday, the IO sought a 10-day remand for Ridwan and two other JMB men --Hasan and Ahmed Ajwad -- arrested from Comilla while hurling bombs at police.

Hasan was being interrogated in Dhaka while Ahmed Ajwad has been undergoing treatment at Comilla Medical College Hospital under custody.

On March 8, members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive recovered 29 grenades, 40 bombs and 240 bomb-making materials from the 'militant den' at Gobhania in Mirsarai upazila.
