Chittagong: A miscreant stored into the classroom and beat a female schoolteacher at Dengapara in Patiya upazila of Chittagong on Tuesday following refusal of his love affair, breaking her two hands and the left leg.

The victim is Misfa Sultana, 25, an assistant teacher of Purba Dengapara Government Primary School and daughter of Nur Mohammad of Naikhain village in the upazila.

The victim’s father told reporters that Ahsan Ullah Tutul, a youth of Dengapara village, entered the classroom around 9:30am, swooped on Mifsa and beat her with a spud while she was taking a class.

The attacker also hit her after she took shelter in the headmaster’s room to save her.

Later, locals rescued the teacher and took her to Patiya Upazila Health Complex from where she was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) as her condition deteriorated.

Tutul had long been harassing his daughter after she refused his love proposal, alleged Nur.

Contacted, officer-in-charge of Patiya Police Station Neyamat Ullah said they arrested the attacker.

Nur filed a case against Tutul with the police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, added the OC.
