Chittagong: Jannat Ara Parvin, a sister of sub-inspector Akram Hossain who was allegedly killed in a road accident, has urged police to interrogate Akram’s wife and former police super Babul Akter over the killing of Babul’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

Rini along with her niece Murshida Jahan Doly met the additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Mohammad Kamruzzaman on Wednesday and requested him to interrogate them to unearth the mystery behind the killing of Mitu and ‘Akram’.

However, the ADC said police will take necessary measures as per the statement of the IO.

Talking to reporters, Rini claimed that the murders of SI Akram and Mitu were interrelated who were killed over the extramarital relationship of Babul and Banani Binte Borni, wife of Akram.

“We’ve provided some information to the DB and submitted a written complaint to the police,” she said.

However, ADC Kamruzzaman denied getting any written complaint and said he only got a copy of a statement of Rini, which she made at a press briefing held at Jhenidah Press Club.

Rini alleged that Babul Akter and Borni had made a plan to kill Akram on December 28, 2014 and to make their plan a success Borni asked Akram to go to Jhenidah via the Jamuna Bridge. “On his way to Jhenidah, miscreants waylaid him and hit him with a sharp weapon. Later, he was taken to Faridpur and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. While he was undergoing treatment, Borni mixed poison with soup and served it to Akram and he died eating that soup on January 13, 2015.”
