Dhaka: Doctors found four marks of ‘bullet wounds’ in the body of the unidentified miscreant who was shot dead during his attempt to intrude into a RAB checkpost in the city's Khilgaon area early Saturday.

Talking to reporters on completion of the autopsy on the body of the alleged attacker at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue in the afternoon, Dr Sohel Mahmud, the chief of the Department of Forensic Medicine (DFM) of the hospital, said the miscreant was killed by bullets the marks of which were found in his body.

The doctors collected blood, hair and flesh from the body during the autopsy for DNA and pathological tests, Dr Sohel said.

Sub-inspector of Khilgaon police station Emadul Haque, who took the body to the DMCH morgue, told reporters that in the postmortem report it was mentioned that two bullet marks were found in the left shoulder while two on its left side of the chest, one on right side of the chest and one in the right foot.

Earlier, the autopsy of the alleged militant, who was killed following the blast of bombs carried by him at a barrack of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Ashkona in the city on Friday, was completed at the DMCH on Saturday.

Dr Sohel Mahmud told the journalists that the man was killed by the bomb explosion as a wire, a belt and a tape were found attached with his body during the autopsy.

An unidentified miscreant was killed as RAB members opened fire on him after the man riding a motorcycle made an attempt to attack the checkpost of RAB-3 in the city's Khilgaon area early Saturday with explosives.

Two members of the elite force were injured in the attack.

Besides, a suspected suicide bomber was killed as four bombs carried by him exploded at a Forces Barrack of Rab at Ashkona in the city on Friday noon.
