Dhaka: Jail authorities are ready to execute the death sentence of Mufti Abdul Hannan and two others, said

Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin on Wednesday.

‘Jail authorities are absolutely ready to execute the death sentence,’ Iftekhar said while talking to reporters at his office.

He, however, said they are yet to receive any executive order in this regard.

‘Hope, the order will reach us by evening,’ the IG Prisons said.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday released the full text of its verdict upholding the death sentence of Harkat‐ul‐Jihad (Huji) chief Mufti Abdul Hannan and two others in a case filed over a grenade attack on ex‐British envoy to Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury in 2004.
