Harkat-ul-Jihad (Huji) leader Delwar alias Ripon, one of the three convicts condemned to death for carrying out the grenade attack on ex-British envoy to Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury in 2004, will also seek ‘presidential clemency’.

Jail Super of Sylhet Central Jail Sagir Ali disclosed this to reporters on Thursday, reports UNB.

Earlier on Wednesday, a special tribunal issued death warrants for Huji chief Mufti Abdul Hannan, Ripon and Sharif Shahedul Alam alias Bipul.

On March 19, the Appellate Division upheld their death sentence rejecting the review petitions filed by the three death-row convicts. It released the full text of its verdict on March 21.
