Dhaka: Visiting Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK Sir Simon McDonald on Tuesday met Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and discussed various issues of mutual interest.

Minister Ali hoped that the ongoing Strategic Dialogue between Bangladesh and the UK will be successful reviewing all the issues of bilateral interest.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Simon McDonald handed over a letter from UK Foreign Minister to Foreign Minister Ali inviting him to visit the UK this year, said the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka.

This is the first ever visit of a British Under-Secretary to Bangladesh.
