Graft case against Babar to continue
Dhaka: The High Court (HC) on Thursday discharged a stay on the proceedings of a graft case against former state minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order.
"The court has also dismissed a petition of the accused to quash the proceedings and ordered the concerned court to conclude the trial within next six months," said Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) counsel Khurshid Alam Khan.
ACC filed the case against Babar with Ramna Police Station on January 13 in 2008, for amassing illegal wealth worth around Tk 7.05 crore.
The case is now pending before Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court.
