Dhaka: Visiting Canadian ruling party MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith met Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday.

The meeting was held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office in the evening.

BNP standing committee members Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and chairperson’s adviser Reaz Rahman were present at the meeting.

However, there was no briefing from either side.

Meeting sources said various issues relating to mutual interests of the two countries and Bangladesh’s latest political and human rights situation were discussed.
