Habiganj: A fire broke out at Shahjibazar Power Generator Company Limited in Habiganj on Saturday.

Shaistaganj Fire Service in charge Jamal Uddin said the fire broke out as a transformer of the power plant exploded at about 5:30pm.

Five fire-fighting units of the fire service rushed in and brought the blaze under control at about 6:20pm, he said.

However, there was no casualty in the fire.

The extent of losses from the fire is yet to be ascertained, reports news agency UNB.
