23 held for ‘sabotage plan’ in city

Police arrested at least 23 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir for ‘sabotage plan’ from different places of the city during a drive continuing for 24 hours till Sunday morning, reports UNB News.
Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Masudur Rahman said 13 leaders and activists of BNP and 10 of Jamaat and Shibir were arrested for planning subversive activities during the ongoing countrywide non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The first day of the fresh 72-hour nationwide hartal, enforced by the BNP-led alliance as part of its movement for what it says resorting democracy and people’s voting right and protesting the government’s ‘repressive acts' and growing incidents of extrajudicial killing, is passing off alongside the blockade.
