Dhaka: Three college teachers were temporarily suspended for carrying smartphone when they went to Dhaka Education Board to pick the question papers of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) on Sunday morning.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid confirmed about the suspension while visiting an examination centre at Dhaka College during the examination.

The suspended teachers are Abdur Rashid, associate professor of Habibullah Bahar College, Naima Nasrin, lecturer of T&T College, and Mahbubur Rahman.

The Education board officials said three teachers went to pick the question papers while carrying their smart phones. Dhaka education board Deputy Controller Audoitya Kumar Roy seized their phones and handed over question papers to them.

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations began across Bangladesh on Sunday morning.

The examination started at about 10:00am and ended 1:00pm.
