Dhaka: A court here on Tuesday deferred until May 7 submission of the investigation report on the case filed in connection with the killing of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Nabi set the new date as the investigation officer of the case could not submit the report on Tuesday.

Three members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) Mainul Hasan Shamim, Abdus Samad alias Abdus Sabur and Khairul Islam are now in jail in the case.

Faisal Arefin Dipan, owner of Jagriti Publications and son of Prof Abul Kashem Fazlul Huq of Dhaka University, was hacked to death in his office on the second floor of Aziz Supermarket at Shahbagh in the capital on October 31, 2015.

Dipan was the publisher of a book titled ‘Biswaser Virus’ (Virus of Faith) written by blogger and founder of Mukto-Mona blog Avijit Roy, who was also hacked to death eight months ago on February 26, 2015 near TSC on the Dhaka University Campus during Ekushey Book Fair.
