Gazipur: A fire burnt at least 100 warehouses of garment wastages in Tongi Millgate area in Gazipur in the early hours of Tuesday.

Fire fighters said the fire originated at a warehouse in the area about 12:30midngiht and soon engulfed the adjoining warehouses.

Three fire-fighting units from Tongi fire service went to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours.

The extent of loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
