Graft case: Charge-framing against MP Bodi deferred
 
Chittagong: A court here on Wednesday deferred the hearing on charge-framing against Awami League MP Abdur Rahman Bodi in a case filed for accumulating wealth beyond his known sources of income.
Divisional Special Public Prosecutor Advocate Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury said the Divisional Special Court Judge Mir Ruhul Amin passed the order following a time petition filed by Bodi’s lawyers.
Earlier, the ruling party MP surrendered before the court on 20 March and received bail.
Abul Kalam Azad, deputy director-2 of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Chittagong filed the case with Double Mooring Police Station on September 17, 2007, accusing him of amassing wealth worth Tk 75.37lakh illegally and concealing information of his wealth worth Tk 56.11 lakh.
