Savar: A collage girl was strangulated to death by miscreants at Sutipara village in Dhamrai upazila of Savar early on Sunday.

Quoting family members, Rijaul Haque Dipu, officer‐in‐charge of Dhamrai Police Station, said Jobeda Khatun, around 18 years old, a first year student of Manikganj Khandakar Delwar Hossain College and daughter of Joynal Abedin of the village, went out of her room after receiving a phone call around 2.00am and did not return.

After a hectic search, they found Jobeda’s body lying near their house on Sunday morning and informed police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The motive behind the killing could not be known yet, the OC added
