Bogra: Two people were killed and two others injured as a truck carrying sand overturned on Bogra-Naogaon Highway in Bogra on Sunday.

The deceased were truck helper Pavel Mia, 25, son of Rajib Pramanik of Boroipara in the uapzila, and sand trader Jahangir Alam, 35, son of Abdus Samad of the same area.

Police said the accident took place at about 12:00pm when the truck turned turtle on the road as it hit a roadside tree after being hit by a bus from behind, leaving Pavel and Jahangir dead on the spot and two others injured. 

The injured were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. 

Meanwhile, police seized the bus.
