ACC quizzes 3 Rajuk officials
Dhaka: Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday questioned three officials of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk), including its chief town planner, in connection with several graft allegations.
An ACC team, led by its deputy director Helal Uddin Sharif, interrogated them from 10am to 12 pm at the ACC head office, the Commission's spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The Rajuk officials, who faced grilling, are chief town planner Md Sirajul Islam, town planner Ashraful Alam Akanda and authorised officer AZ Shafiul Hannan.
Pranab Kumar, also ACC's public relations officer, said there are allegations that the three Rajuk officials approved a land of Detail Area Plan (DAP) as ordinary land, gave approval to commercial buildings in different residential areas and residential buildings in commercial areas.
There is also an allegation that the Rajuk officials in collusion with each other approved the design of a 10-storey building in the city's Farmgate in the name of a late person for their personal interest.
