Heavy rain submerges parts of Chittagong city
Chittagong: Heavy rain submerged many streets of the port city on Friday, leaving the normal life in disarray.
The low‐lying areas of the city, including Muradpur, Chakbazar, Sholosohor, Agrabad and Halishohor areas, went under knee‐deep water due to the torrential rain that started early Friday and continued till 10:00 am, causing immense sufferings to the city dwellers.
People were seen crossing the roads by rickshaw or wading through the knee‐deep water in the city.
According to the local Met office, 32 millimeter rainfall was recorded in two hours from 7:00am to 10:00am.
