Noakhali: A man was beaten to death by his neighbours over a land‐related dispute in Notun Shukhchar village of Hatia upazila of Noakhali on Sunday morning.

Quoting local people, Officer‐in‐Charge of Hatia police station Abdul Mazid said Gias Uddin, in his sixties, got into an altercation with his neighbours Sohrab and Elias over their rain‐reduced walkway in the village.

The altercation occurred around 7:00am, and saw Sohrab and Elias beating Gias with a stick, leaving him critically injured.

Later relatives rushed him to Hatia’s upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
