Chapainawabganj: A Bangladeshi was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Gilabari border point in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj on Sunday night.

Lt Col Rashed Ali, commanding officer of BGB‐59 battalion, said the BSF troops from Adampur camp opened fire on some cattle traders as they got close to border around 10:00pm, killing Saidul Islam, in his twenties, a resident of Shikari village, on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body around 6:30am on Monday, said Mohsin Ali, officer‐in‐charge of Bholahat Police Station.
