Dhaka: A woman was killed as ran over by a bus at Gabtali in Dhaka in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased is Sufia Begum, in her forties, a resident of Ghataimari village of Sadar upazila in Lalmonirhat.

Saiful Islam, husband of Sufia, said he and his wife reached Gabtali bus-stand from Lalmonirhat on Saturday night to visit their relatives. A bus hit Sufia when they were crossing a road at the area after getting off the bus at about 12:00am and left Sufia critically injured.

Later, she was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.

However, the body was kept at the hospital’s Emergency Unit morgue for autopsy, said DMCH police box sub-inspector Bacchu Mia.
