Rajshahi: A farmer was killed and over 100 dwelling houses were damaged as a nor’wester lashed nine upazilas of Rajshahi on Sunday evening.

The deceased is Alam, in his forties, of Boklabagan area in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi.

Family said a tree collapsed on Alam during the storm while he was returning home from field in the evening, leaving him dead on the spot.

Besides, the storm also damaged crop field and uprooted trees in the nine upazilas.
