12km tailback on Dhaka-Ctg Highway

Chittagong: A 12-kilometre long tailback was created on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway on Monday morning after a vehicle became dysfunctional on the Highway at Bashbaria in Sitakunda upazila on Sunday midnight.
The Sitakunda Highway police said the traffic gridlock was created in the area since Sunday midnight as a vehicle went out of order since Sunday midnight at Koutabazar in the area, causing immense suffering to the commuters.
Zillur Rahman, a police sergeant of Bashbaria police camp, said the tailback has stretched from Bashbaria to Bhatiari and Sitakunda.
Besides, some points of Mirsarai-Nizampur road have also experienced heavy traffic due to the incident.
The Dhaka-bound vehicles were stuck in the tailback and are moving very slowly till the filling of this report at about 1:00pm on Monday.
