Dhaka: The High Court (HC) on Wednesday dismissed a writ petition seeking its directive for giving auto promotions to around 5,000 auditors of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCAG) without taking any exam.

A High Court vacation bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order, paving way for holding the exams on May 5, reports BSS.

Supreme Court lawyer Tanay Kumar Saha on Tuesday filed the writ, challenging the decision of holding departmental exam for promotion.

‘Earlier the court had ordered to implement the promotion of auditors, and I had filed the writ to comply with that order. But the court summarily rejected the plea, saying that order had not said anything about giving promotion without taking any exam,’ Saha said.
