Ihsanul Karim appointed PM’s press secretary
Dhaka: Ihsanul Karim, an eminent journalist and former press secretary to President Abdul Hamid, has been appointed the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina press secretary.
The Public Administration Ministry on Monday issued an order appointing him the press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on contract for one year.
He will replace AKM Shameem Chowdhuri who was made the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary on 3 June, 2014.
Ihsanul Karim worked at official news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) for a long time.
He also served as the chief editor and managing director of the BSS.
Meanwhile, Additional Principal Information Officer Mohammad Joynal Abedin has been made Press Secretary to the President on 8 June as Ihsanul Karim’s contractual appointment expired on 25 May.
