Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Thursday sent Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Khairul Kabir Khokan to jail, rejecting his bail plea in five cases lodged over subversive activities in 2015.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Nabi sent him to jail as the BNP leader surrendered before the court in 10 cases lodged with Paltan Police Station.

"The court accepted his bail pleas in five cases while rejected in another five," a court official said. 

Police filed the cases against Khokan and others on the charges of carrying out subversive activities in Paltan area during the blockade program called by BNP-led alliance in 2015.
