SSC candidate commits suicide failing to score GPA 5
Dhaka: A student committed suicide in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area after failing to get GPA-5 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination on Thursday night.
The deceased is NM Dipu, in his sixteen, son of Abdullah Al Noor of Durgapur upazila in Netrakona.
Abdullah Al Noor said Dipu sat for SSC examination from Agradut Bidya Niketon High School at Jatrabari and got GPA 4.95 in the SSC results published on Thursday morning.
Dipu became upset after getting his results as he expected the highest GPA.
Dipu’s father said as they went to meet him, we found the door of his room locked at about 9:15pm.They called him but he did not respond. Dipu’s parents broke open the door and found him handing with the ceiling fan.
Later, Dipu was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
DMC Police box duty official sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said the body was kept at hospital morgue for autopsy.
