Customs Intelligence officials on Tuesday arrested a man along with 12 gold bars worth Tk 65 lakh from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.

Mohammad Belal, 37, hailing from Nazirhat in Chittagong, arrived at the airport from Dubai by a flight of Air-Arabia in the morning, reports UNB.

Tipped off, a team of customs intelligence challenged Belal while crossing the green channel around 10:00am, said Pranaoy Chakma, assistant director of Customs intelligence department.

Later, the customs official recovered the gold bars he concealed in his rectum.
