Myanmar border force shot BGB man
Cox’s Bazar: Myanmar border force, Border Guard Police (BGP), opened fire at a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) patrolling boat in Teknaf in the early hours of Wednesday.
A BGB member was injured during the firing and BGP men picked up a BGB member to Myanmar.
BGB Cox’s Bazar sector officer major Aminul Islam said a BGB troop chase a group of smugglers while it was patrolling in Laldia area opposite to Damdamia check post. At one point, when the smugglers went beyond the border of Bangladesh, BGP members opened fire to BGB members which left a BGB man, Biplob, injured.
Myanmar border security force also picked up a BGB man, Abdur Razzak, as he fell into River Naf, said Aminul Islam.
The major said Biplob was taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
The missing BGB member will be brought back to home through a flag meeting.
