Wife killed ‘by husband’
Dhaka: A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over family feud in the city's Badda area on Saturday morning.
The deceased was Tahmina Aktar Makki, 45, a teacher of a local madrasha and wife of Shah Alam of Shidhalpur village of Damudda upazila in Shariatpur, said Bachhu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police out-post.
Quoting victim's neighbors, police said tailor Shah Alam hit his wife with a brick following a family feud, leaving her seriously injured when their three children were asleep in the early hours today.
Hearing Tahmina's scream their children woke up and knocked the door of their parent's room repeatedly. When Shah Alam opened the door they found their mother lying on the floor with severe injuries.
Tahmina died on the way to hospital.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
Police arrested Sha Alam in this connection.
