Panchagarh: A woman along with her two and half years old daughter reportedly committed suicide by jumping under the wheels of a train at Nayanibaruj Railway Station in Bakultala area of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was as Shamoli Boshak, 23, a school teacher and wife of Pradip Kumar Sen of Ruhiya union of Thakurgaon district and her daughter with Down syndrome, Moni Bosak.

Panchagarh Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Rabiul Hasan Sarkar said Shamoli along with her daughter jumped under the wheels of a Panchagarh-bound local train 'Uttora' at about 12:15pm. The mother and the toddler were killed on the spot, he added.

After birth of her daughter Shamoli's in-laws denied recognising the child as their family member as she had Down syndrome, he said.

Shamoli also filed a case against her husband with Panchagarh Judges' Court under WomenandChildren Repression Prevention Act over the matter, he added.

They are suspecting that Shamoli might have committed suicide over family feud, the OC added.
