Pabna: Miscreants hurled three firebombs at the Dhaka-bound Maitree Express train at Ishwardi Railway Station in Pabna on Sunday, the first day of the fresh 72-hour hartal enforced by BNP-led 20-Party Alliance alongside a non-stop blockade programme.
Pakshi Railway Station general manager Mosharaf Hossain said the train from Kolkata reached the station at about 1:45pm. When the train started for its destination after a 10-minute halt, miscreants threw three firebombs on the locomotive.
Fire fighters of the train with the help of local people put out the fire right away, Mosharaf added.
The train left for Dhaka after changing its locomotive at about 4:10 pm.
