Dhaka: Rejecting the bail prayers of BNP joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu, a court on Thursday sent him to jail in connection with several cases filed against him for instigating violence in 2015.

Metropolitan Magistrate Court this afternoon passed the order after Bulu surrendered and sought bail in 31 violence cases, said the lawyer of the BNP leader.

The cases were filed at several police stations by the police against Bulu for instigating violence and arson on public transports during the nearly 3‐month blockade imposed by the BNP‐led alliance in 2015.
