Dhaka: Police recovered body of a woman and rescued a child from a residential hotel at Fakirapool in Motijheel early on Monday.

The identity of the woman aged around 22 and the two-month-old child could not be known immediately.

Police said they recovered the body around 12:00am from a room of Al Shaheen hotel.

Hotel authorities said, on Sunday afternoon a couple along with the child rented a room of the hotel. Later at night, hotel security heard the child screaming and tried to open the locked room.

On information, law enforcers broke into the room and found the body and the child.

Police is suspecting that the woman was strangulated to death.

The child was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
