4 killed in separate road crashes

Dhaka: Four people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Sylhet and Faridpur districts on Tuesday.

In Sylhet, two people were killed and four others injured when a rashly driven CNG-run auto-rickshaw overturned on Sylhet-Dhaka highway at Telibazar in Dakshin Surma upazila in the morning.

The deceased were identified as Marzan, 19, CNG driver from Jagannathpur upazila in Sunamganj district and Adil, 3, son of Sufian of Dakshin Surma upazila.

Jedan Al Musa, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, said the accident took place around 10:30am as the CNG-run auto-rickshaw turned turtle while plying speedily defying police signal.

The injured were taken to Osmani Medical College Hospital, he added.

In Faridpur, two siblings were killed and their father was injured when a motorcycle carrying them got hit by a human hauler from behind at Monikotha Bazar in Sadarpur upazila around 11:30am.

The deceased were identified as Jihad and Nusrat, son and daughter of Ripon Khan of the upazila.
