Banani rape: Nayem ‘confesses’ to part
Dhaka: Nayem Ashraf, one of the accused in a case filed over the rape of two private university girls in a Banani hotel, reportedly confessed to his involvement in the incident before a court here on Thursday.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder recorded the confessional statement of Nayeem after he was produced before the court on completion of his 7-day remand period.
Nayeem was arrested from Munshiganj on May 17.
The two university girls were raped at The Raintree Dhaka hotel in Banani of the capital on March 28 last.
One of the rape victims filed a case with Banani Police Station on May 6 accusing five people - Safat Ahmed, Sadman Sakif, Nayem Ashraf, Billal and Shafat's bodyguard.
