Savar: A student of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was killed and another injured when a bus hit a utility vehicle on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at C&B Bus Stand in Savar early on Friday.

Nazmul Hasan Rana, in his twenties, a student of Marketing Department of the university and son of Abdul Kuddus of Pabna and Arafat, around 24 years,were injured as the bus hit the utility vehicle used for public transport carrying them around 5:00am, said JU Proctor Tapan Kumar Saha.

Rana and Arafat, a student of Microbiology Department of the university, were taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rana dead.

The accident occurred when the two students were returning to the campus after attending a religious sermon at Kolma Marker’s Mosque under Savar union, said the proctor.

On information, police recovered the body.
