Hefajat chief Allama Shafi falls ill, airlifted to Dhaka

Chittagong: Hefajat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi is airlifted to Dhaka from Chittagong as his physical condition deteriorated on Tuesday morning.
Hefajat’s organising secretary Mawlana Azizul Haque told NTV Online the party chief has been suffering from respiratory problems since Monday afternoon. According to physician’s advice, the Islamist leader will be taken to Asgar Ali Hospital at Gendaria in Old Dhaka.
An air-ambulance will carry Allama Shafi to Dhaka at about 1:00pm, said Azizul Haque. Allama Shafi’s eldest son, Mawlana Yusuf, and personal assistant, Mohammad Shafique and some other associates will accompany him to Dhaka.
