Narayanganj: At least five people were killed and around 12 others were injured in a collision between a train and a pickup at Rasulpur level crossing under Fatullah Police Station in Sadar upazila, Narayanganj on Monday night.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.

The Narayanganj Railway police said the Narayanganj-bound train crashed into the pickup at the level crossing at about 10:45pm as the vehicle approached the rail tracks while the train was passing through the area, leaving one passenger dead on the spot.

Two others including a woman died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Later two more succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
