Moudud files writ with HC against his eviction
Dhaka: A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Thursday challenging the legality of the eviction of BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed from his Gulshan residence.
Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon filed the writ petition on behalf of Moudud Ahmed.
A HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan is likely to hear the petition in the afternoon.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Rajdhahi Unnayan Kartripakkha(Rajuk) took over BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed’s Gulshan house following a court order.
The utility services like gas, water and electricity of the house were disconnected while its valuables and furniture removed.
On 4 June, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court dismissed two petitions filed seeking a review against the SC verdict that scrapped BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed’s possession of a house at Holding No 159 in Gulshan‐2 area of Dhaka.
One of the review petitions was filed by Moudud’s brother Manjur Ahmed and another was filed by the Anti‐Corruption Commission.
The SC released the full text of its verdict that scrapped the possession of a house on August 2, 2016. Later, Moudud filed review petition over the matter.
