Dhaka: Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 65 per head this year.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Fitra Fixing Committee of Islamic Foundation held at conference room of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Thursday morning.

Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Moulana Mohammad Mizanur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Per person Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 65 and maximum Tk 1,980 this year taking into account the market prices of ata, dates and other essential items, said a press release of Islamic Foundation.

Fitra can be given in cash or kind.

Members of the National Fitra Fixing Committee Mozaharul Mannan, Dr Muhammad Abdus Salam, Mufti Mohammad Abdullah, Prof. Sirajuddin Ahmed, Mufassir Dr. Mohammad Abu Saleh Patwari, Mufti Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan were, among others, attended the meeting.
