Dhaka: Police on Thursday pressed charges against all the five accused in a case filed over the rape of two private university girls in a Banani hotel of Dhaka.

The five accused are Shafat Ahmed, Nayem Ashraf, Sadman Sakif, Shafat’s driver Billal Hossain and his bodyguard Rahmat Ali.

Ismat Ara Ame, inspector of women support and investigation centre of Dhaka metropolitan police, submitted the chargesheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in the afternoon.

The two university girls were raped at the Raintree Dhaka hotel in Banani of the capital on 28 March last.

One of the rape victims filed a case with Banani Police Station on 6 May  accusing the five people.
