Savar: The High Court on Monday stayed the process for holding the election of Savar Upazila Council.

An HC bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice M Faruk passed the order after hearing on a writ petition filed by Kofil Uddin, suspended chairman of the upazila.

Secretary of Local Government Department Division, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka and eight officials of the Election Commission were made respondents at the petition.

Advocate Baset Mazumder stood for the petitioner.
