27 assistant attorney‐generals appointed, 23 relieved

Dhaka: The Supreme Court on Monday appointed 27 lawyers as assistant attorney‐generals while relieved 23 assistant attorney‐generals from their respective duties.
The appointments have been given under the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972, according to a document received from the Ministry of Law.
It says the appointments took immediate effect and will remain valid until further notice.
Solicitor (In‐charge) Ranjan Kumar Saha issued the order with permission of the President.
Meanwhile, 23 assistant attorney‐generals have been relieved from their respective duties upon cancellation of their appointments with immediate effect.
The copies of these two separate orders in this regard have been sent to relevant offices, including the Cabinet Division.
