2 killed in Madaripur road crash

Madaripur: Two people were killed when a bus collided with a pickup van at Rajoir upazila in Madaripur in the early hours of Wednesday.
At least five people were also injured during the accident occurred near Kamaldi bridge on the Dhaka-Barisal Highway at about 6:00am.
The Rajoir police said a Barisal-bound Eagle Paribahan bus from Dhaka collided head-on with a Jhinaidah-bound pickup van and left two dead on the spot.
The deceased are Ashraful, in his twenties, driver of the pickup van, and Rubel Mia, in his thirties, assistant of the driver, also a resident of Maheshpur upazila in Jhinaidah.
Police said the bodies will be taken to Madaripur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Two of the injured, Russel and Jony, are receiving treatment at Rajoir Health Complex. Three injured left the hospital after receiving primary treatment.
