Chittagong: Heavy to very heavy rainfall along with squally wind is likely to occur at several places of Chittagong division, raising fear of more hillslides in the hilly districts.

Meghanad Bhattacharjya, duty officer of Chittagong Met Office, said the maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. three as deep convection is taking place over North Bay.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

At least 135 people were killed in hillslides in Rangamati, Bandarban, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar districts since Tuesday morning.
