Barguna: A case has been filed against Sub‐inspector Abu Zafar of district Detective Branch (DB) of police under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on Monday.

Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Zulfikar Ali Khan took the case and ordered for a judicial investigation into the matter.

Halima Begum, wife of one Shah Alam Sardar of Heilibunia village of Sadar upazila filed the lawsuit.

According to the case statement, DB sources Raju alias Tire Raju and Jisan came to Halima’s house and asked for a glass of water around 10:00pm on Saturday.

Halima’s son Musa, a homeopath, gave them water. They, however, suddenly handcuffed him and beat when he tried to protest the matter.

Later, SI Abu Zafar and Khalil, son of Majid Hawlader, another source of police, entered the house and tried to take Musa outside the home.

‘Watching the situation, Musa’s two sisters—Mariam and Sathi—tried to resist them but Zafar kicked them and tried to rape college student Mariam near a pond adjacent to their home. However, local people rescued her after hearing her scream.’

Later, SI Abu Zafar showed homeopath Musa arrested with 100 pieces of Yaba tablets.

Mariam and Sathi were admitted to Barguna General Hospital.

Meanwhile, SI Abu Zafar said Halima Begum filed the false case against him for arresting her son with Yaba pills.

Bijay Bosak, Superintendent of Police in Barguna, said he heard the matter, adding, legal action will be taken after the investigation.
