Sangsad Bhaban: Six mobile phone operators of the country has paid Tk 855.01 crore as revenue in the 2016‐17 fiscal. Tarana Halim, State Minister for Post and Telecommunications, came up with the information while replying to a tabled starred question from Sukumar Ranjan Gosh ﴾Munshiganj‐1﴿ at the Parliament on Tuesday.

She further said that Grameenphone paid Tk 430.99 crore, Robi Tk 221.70 crore, Banglalink Tk 161.36 crore, Airtel Tk 14.86 crore, Citycell Tk 11.04 crore and the state‐run Teletalk Tk 15.06 crore.

Replying to M Israfil Alam from Naogaon‐6 constituency, the State Minister said that the revenue collection of postal services department has been increasing gradually.

It earned Tk 325 crore till May of the current fiscal while the collection was Tk 301.18 crore in 2015‐16, Tk 253.17 crore in 2014‐15 and Tk 219.13 crore in 2013‐14 fiscal, she informed the House.
